Cultural references
When we reference rites of passage from cultures outside our own (Apache Sunrise, quinceañera, Bat Mitzvah, and others), we cite the lineage and treat them as parallel structures we can learn from — not practices to be adopted as decoration. We welcome correction when we get this wrong.
